About
Bindiya Nair
Bridging clinical evidence and traditional wellness systems, and candid about where the two do not meet.
Bindiya Nair (née Gupta) is the co-founder of Steel City Health and brings over fifteen years across wellness, consumer health, and global e-commerce. She writes where the research and the tradition actually meet, and is candid about where they don't.
Raised in Kerala's Ayurvedic tradition and a lifelong student of Ayurveda and aromatherapy alongside her commercial work, she reads the clinical literature and the traditional system with the same scrutiny. Her writing is for readers who want neither uncritical wellness enthusiasm nor a dismissal of everything outside the lab, but an honest account of what holds up.
Experience
Fifteen-plus years spanning wellness, beauty, consumer health, and global e-commerce, including marketplace operations across international markets. Co-founder and operations lead at Steel City Health, a consumer health company.
Areas of study
A lifelong student of Ayurveda and aromatherapy, rooted in Kerala's traditional practice, studied alongside a commercial career in consumer health rather than in place of it. This is the seat she writes from: familiar enough with the tradition to take it seriously, disciplined enough about evidence to test it.
Role at Steel City Health
Co-Founder, with responsibility for operations across consumer health brands and international e-commerce marketplaces. This site is her independent writing and is separate from that commercial work.
Editorial method
Every article runs a single traditional claim through the same seven steps: the claim as stated, its historical use, plausible mechanism, human evidence, safety limits, what the claim does not prove, and a final evidence grade. The full method is set out here: How I Evaluate Traditional Wellness Claims.
